How We Work
Providing you with accessible, transparent & responsive legal services
What to expect When You Contact Us
We pride ourselves on being Accessible, Transparent and Responsive. As part of this we have outlined below how we will deal with your enquiry.
2 - Initial discussion with lawyer
This discussion is for you to explain the issues. We advise you whether we can help and explain about costs. We limit this to 30 minutes. There is no charge for this part of our service to you.
3 - Follow up e-mail
After your initial discussion, we aim to e-mail you the same day with details of what was discussed together with an outline of how we can help and our initial advice to you.
4 - Review of further evidence
If further work is needed (e.g. to review documents) so that we can advise you properly, we will provide a fixed cost quote, usually between £125-£250 + VAT. After review, a further discussion takes place by phone or Zoom.
5 - You decide to go ahead
We will e-mail you our client care documents together with a cost estimate for the work involved, scope of works and how we will work together. If you agree to the terms, you sign electronically and they are automatically sent to us.
6 - We’re part of your team
Once you have provided your identification documents and made a payment on account of costs, your lawyer will start working on your case.
Our Charging Options
At Kumari Hart Solicitors, trust is essential, and we are committed to being transparent.
Costs vary according to the type of case. You will see below an outline of the various payment methods used.
Pay as you go
Many of our clients prefer to work on an hourly rate basis. We always give ranges of costs for each stage of a case. Our hourly rates typically vary from £125 – £250 per hour, depending on the complexity and experience of the lawyer dealing with the matter.
In certain cases, fixed fees might be appropriate. In calculating our fees, we will also consider whether any unexpected work might affect these, but this gives you some peace of mind about the level of costs.
Sometimes, our clients like to undertake the litigation process themselves, but with support from a lawyer. This is called the “light-touch” approach. Here we will charge a fee which will reflect the amount of time the work is likely to take.
LITIGATION COSTS EXPLAINED
If you’re considering litigation? You may be asking yourself …“How much will it cost?”
The amount of the costs depends on the amount of time your lawyer spends on your matter.
There are several factors that impact the costs you pay, this guide to Litigation Costs will tell you what to look for and how we deal with costs in litigation.
